If you are receiving Spravato (intranasal esketamine), it is recommended that you review this FDA approved Medication Guide before each treatment.
Be sure you have arranged a safe ride home. A rideshare app or taxi service is acceptable. If you do not have a ride home, you cannot receive ketamine/esketamine treatment safely and your appointment will be canceled without refund.
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time
Do not eat any solid food 4 hours prior to your appointment. You may drink clear liquids up to 2 hours prior your appointment
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting upper body clothing for IV access if receiving IV ketamine and vital sign monitoring equipment
Ketamine/esketamine has not been proven safe in pregnancy. If you are physically capable of pregnancy, we recommend a urine pregnancy test, which we will offer you before your treatment. Do not empty your bladder before your appointment if you plan on taking the pregnancy test
Do NOT use any stimulants such as ADHD medications, cocaine or caffeine for more than 12 hours prior to your appointment
Do NOT use any recreational drugs including alcohol for more than 12 hours prior to your appointment

If you want to discuss dosing or any other medical question with an Emerge Ketamine Physician prior to your visit, you must do so 24 hours prior to your appointment via text/call/email
During the appointment:
We encourage you to have an ally with you during your treatment. This can be a close friend, family member or someone else important to your support system
We encourage patients to focus on the inner experience of their mind during the ketamine infusion/esketamine treatment – this is best facilitated by the use of an eye mask and headphones with appropriate music or ambient tones. We will provide you with a comfortable eye mask and sanitized headphones, and you are welcome to use your own
We will provide a selection of curated music, ambient tones, and white noise to play during your infusion. Ketamine can alter your sensory perception, so we recommend you use our musical selections. If you would like to listen to your own music, please let us know ahead of time so we can review it for appropriateness
Esketamine (Spravato) appointments will be a minimum of 2 hours duration as mandated by the FDA. IV ketamine appointments will typically last 1 hour and 20 minutes.
After the appointment:
Patients will commonly feel fatigued for the remainder of the day. Plan on rest and relaxation after your infusion
You MUST have a ride home after the appointment (friend/family/ride-share). Do not drive, operate heavy equipment or make big life decisions for the rest of the day of your appointment
Use the time after the appointment to reflect, journal, and consolidate the insights you gained during your treatment
Consider scheduling a psychotherapy appointment or scheduling some time to talk with your treatment ally after your infusion
Payment/Refunds/Cancellations/Rescheduling
